V, VG, GF, DF, PL, FL (okay, that’s just one we made up) are spreading across Melbourne menus more than ever before. Times are changing and with it, the Melburnian diet. Meat-free, gluten-free and dairy-free are fast becoming the norm on the streets of Chapel Street Precinct and people are really starting to notice a difference. Whether their skin is looking better, energy levels are higher or their conscience is a little lighter, the results are there.

If you’ve been throwing a potential change in diet fast into the ‘too hard’, ‘too inconvenient’ or ‘too expensive’ basket, let us help you change that around. If you want to of course. Chapel Street Precinct has an extensive list of options for the plant-eating folk and the food is absolutely delicious.

So, if you need just one more kick to get you through the plant based doors, here are a few places to go vegan on Chapel Street.

Coffee lover with a conscience? This place is for you. The coffee is incredible and the delectable vegan snacks have been created to compliment the flavours in the coffee beans. The gluten free banana bread served with sweet potato jam & coffee maple syrup is a must-try! They even brew their own macadamia milk on site. Yum.

Who said vegans can’t enjoy the good stuff? Raw and vegan desserts are all the rage and can taste just as good as a block of Cadbury dairy milk chocolate, sometimes better! Pierrick Boyer offers traditional wedding cakes that can be tailored to suit the dietary requirements of the herbivorous kind. Check out this vegan cheesecake, it’s just oozing with deliciousness!

Labelling yourself The Falafel Man is a big call, and one that owner Austin has certainly lived up to. Do yourself a favour and bite into the amazing falafel available at this vegan cart in Prahran Market. Light and fluffy, tasty and healthy, you’ll soon discover why people keep going back for more. Austin cooks each order fresh so there may be a queue but we promise it’s worth the wait.
