Melbourne CBD workers think they’ve got the best choice of lunchtime eateries.
Well, we at Digital360 beg to differ. We’ve been working just off Chapel St for four years now and we think we know a thing or two about the best spots for a worker’s lunch.
Here are seven of our favourite places to lunch on and near Chapel.
Leonard made a big call when they labelled their establishment a ‘house of love’. But dammit, whoever they are, they delivered. From the comfort food packed menu to the cosy atmosphere to the frankly awesome bar staff, Leonard’s brings the love in spades.
For those days when the crew can’t agree, the Prahran Market lets everyone choose for themselves before returning to the communal area to eat together. Special mention goes to Maker and Monger for their exceptional (see heart stopping) cheese toasties.
What’s better than a cheap and cheerful pub lunch? Temperance has a different meal and beer combos every weekday and they’re all classics. Steak. Parma. Burger. Portions are generous and the staff are always up for a banter; it’s just what you want from your local.
Zaaki Falafel Bar and Café
Walk past any worksite off Chapel at lunch and you’re likely to see at least one tradie chowing down on a Zaaki wrap. The place is perfect for grab-and-go lunches. The falafel is always fresh and the sauces have just the right mix of spices. Highly recommended.
Leave your dieting colleagues at the office. Brother Burger is all about big burgers, gloriously deep-fried sides and wicked wings served by the kilo. There’s also a bunch of micro-brewed beers for workers who like a pale ale with their beef burger.
