Need a Laugh?

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival has rolled into town for another huge year! So what better time to get out and support the local Melbourne comedy scene at some of Chapel Street’s great venues. Or maybe, get your brave on and learn how the experts do it, so you can do your own stand up show … we’d pay to see that.

If a good laugh isn’t enough to make you happy, how about FREE comedy? Grab your mates and a drink and head upstairs at Lucky Coq every Tuesday from 9pm for a stack of LOLs at Bertie’s Comedy Jam.

Jokers like Tom Ballard and Dilruk Jayasinha are just a few of the comedians who have done a spot at Bertie’s.

Apparently, a good sense of humour is one of the top characteristics people look for in potential partners. Increase your chances of getting lucky by doing a course with professional comedians at the School of Hard Knock Knocks.

Over five nights (Sunday to Thursday), you’ll learn about joke structures, how to create content, stage confidence and controlling an audience. Then you get to show off your skills with a live performance in front of family and friends. You might even want to use the video of your graduating performance on Tinder to really test the theory that comedians get all the love.
