On Chapel Street, Easter isn’t just for the kids. Celebrate adult Easter with our top picks for everything entertaining, self-love and booze related. Start off with a (relatively) mellow Good Friday, let your hair down at Chapel’s best bars and eateries then end with some me-time and our fave chocolate on Easter Monday. This one’s for all you cheeky Easter revelers.
Grab a stash at Galah
Most shops are closed on Good Friday so one recommendation is that you stock up on booze the day before and kick off the party at home or at a mates house. Support local produce and wines at Galah, our new watering hole in Windsor specialising in low intervention wines and Aussie small batch spirits. Don’t hold back because we all know there’s nothing worse than running out of alcohol. Remember guys, there’s a lot more fun to be had this Easter so take it easy.

Raise the steaks at Angus and Bon
A New York designed steakhouse with breathtaking interiors. Sip on craft beers or pair their extensive range of whisky and wine with a fillet that just melts in your mouth. Graze from shared dishes such as a classic ham plate with premium jamon sarrono, prosciutto and sopressa, or nibble perhaps on a pork croquette or confit lamb ribs. Finish by indulging in their dark chocolate mousse with caramelized hazelnuts, truly the best ending to the best steak. With various menu items vegetarian and pescartarian friendly and a cocktail list to boot. These guys are ticking all the boxes! Open all Easter weekend so get booking people.

It’s better live
The music scene on Chapel Street is world class & seeing music performed live will always be the best way to take it in. Carpe Diem Bar has a ‘private party’ feel. It’s cool, small but roomy and fills up nicely with people and music! With regular acoustic sessions, notably on Fridays (especially Good ones), Carpe Diem (which, if you’ve seen Dead Poets Society, you know means ‘seize the day’ in Latin) is basically three little bars in one great venue.

Hair of the dog
A boozy breakfast is obligatory for all adult Easter adventures. Wilson & Market is a bit fancy shmancy and goes from breakfast to dinner to after party – but we’ll talk more about that another time. Right now, we’re only interested in breakfast… and the pre-party. We’re talking anything from a full english breakfast to french pastries and an entire line up of cocktails on offer.
But our pick? Get the crushed avocado toast with macadamia goats cheese, broad bean hummus & padron peppers and the signature gin & tonic! That way, at least you’re eating your greens and you’ll feel a little better about the rest of your choices during the day.

Middle South East is everyone’s favourite host. Adding a splash of Middle Eastern deliciousness to Melbourne menu classics from early morning to night. Located outside the refurbished 670 Chapel shopping precinct, she’s a watering hole, there to fuel your Adult Easter festivities. After your big brekky has settled and you’ve had your morning coffee, take pleasure in a cheeky Aperol Spritz or maybe an Espresso Martini. Happy hour’s from 4-7.

Time to party
As a big kids playground, Bosozoku is literally the perfect place to host your adult Easter friends if they’re up for a good time. Hey, don’t let your mind wander. We’re not talking about THAT type of good time – we’re talking karaoke, retro Nintendo games, pool, great food and drinks, and a dry ice spa. If your crew is heavy on the numbers, you can book out the entire venue and go manic. If your team is on the svelte side, take over a karaoke room, pool room or even the Tokyo subway.
But what about the food? Full food and beverage packages can be arranged, and we’re 99% sure that everyone will dig into the range of Japanese fusion sliders & canapés on offer.

Hangover cure at Leonard’s House of Love
Leonard made a big call when they labelled their establishment a ‘house of love’. But dammit, whoever they are, they delivered. From the comfort food packed menu to the cosy atmosphere to the frankly awesome bar staff, Leonard’s brings the love in spades.
Get around some of the best fried chicken in the country and choose from burgers (vegan and veggie options available), loaded fries plus three variations of nachos. No formal dining area and no bookings means you can stumble your seedy arse in, re energize and be ready for more Easter weekend antics.

Bun-anza at Bakers Delight
It’s hot cross buns time! Adult Easter means you can’t miss out on a long-standing favourite from Bakers Delight. There’s nothing better than a hot cross bun fresh out of the oven. Plus, starting this Friday, spend $50 at Pran Central and pick up a free six pack of hot cross buns on your way out. What a delight! We also strongly suggest you try out this delicious Hot Cross Bun Frozen Cheesecake recipe made with Choc Chip Easter Buns. It’s insanely fantastic.

Sunday session at Borsch, Vodka & Tears
This Sunday sesh goodie has the best street side seats on Chapel – plus a cocktail list that will blow the hat straight off your head. Drag along a group of your favourite people, join in on excellent Polish fare and down a glass of the Green Fairy … not having that kind of Easter Sunday? Maybe just a cocktail then.

It’s shop o’clock
Le Louvre is the destination for the most exclusive edit of international brands sourced from around the globe. It’s the only boutique retailer that you’ll ever want to visit if you’re a fashionista in search of the very best of high-end fashion. Balmain. Stella McCartney. Gucci. Marchesa. Valentino. Vivienne Westwood. All curated by Le Louvre.
An extraordinary mix of style together with a store interior that will make you go wow! Think regency desks and mirrored walls plus Aboriginal art, lucite chairs, tables and lights from London, silver and white crocodile skin sofas from Paris, Art Deco painted mirrors from Brazil. A significant part of Le Louvre’s 90-year history is the idea that fashion, art and design are one and that together they create a unique and wonderful experience. So go on, have some fun!

Let the detox begin
Humming Puppy offers a yoga experience evolved from traditional practices in a stunning space that quite literally resonates with a perfect ‘hum’. It’s injected with a combination of frequencies to enhance and deepen your experience. More than just the physical practice of yoga, your experience begins the moment you sign up and book your mat online, even allowing you to reserve the specific mat you want so you can simply turn up knowing you’ll be exactly where you desire! Enter the studio, leave the outside world (and the kids) behind and immerse yourself in good vibes!

The moment we’ve all been waiting for
Sweet, smooth and a little bitter… no, we’re not talking about your ex, it’s chocolate on our minds. During Easter you’re bound to indulge in a fair bit of bunny shaped and foil wrapped goods. That’s why during adult Easter you can eat as much chocolate as you want and in as many different shapes as you like.
Our favourite chocolate adaption? Charlie Dumpling’s chocolate dumplings are madly delicious! Try a serve of their milk chocolate dumplings, popping candy, raspberry gel and sherbet, because you can’t be 100% grown up 100% of the time.

Time for a cleanse
When Mum said to eat your greens, she failed to mention that you could drink them too! Green Street Juice has a magical way of turning organic greens into delicious, and the world may truly stop spinning if the Mover + Shaker juice cleanse is ever taken away. I solemnly swear this will eradicate all the damage you’ll have inflicted on your body in the previous three days and restore your fitspo superstar ways! (I think).
