Chapel Street is a living, moving beast & we wouldn’t have it any other way. Each month we see new businesses push the boundaries by offering something exciting for those of us who frequent Chapel Street on the regular. Now the month of May, friends, did not disappoint. If you haven’t been on the lookout in the last month, here’s a few places that you NEED to see. Soon. Look who’s new to Chapel Street in May 2017.

Have you been living under a rock? If word of Neptune hasn’t reached you yet, you MUST have been. It’s the newest foodie hot spot to hit Prahran, and boy, it is good! We wouldn’t expect any less from the team behind our favourite Windsor sisters, Hanoi Hannah, Saigon Sally and Tokyo Tina. The two-story High Street restaurant sits 140, with spaces for dining, or settling down for the night with a bottle of vino from the 300 strong wine list. Be a hero and lead your group and see what the hype is about, you won’t be disappointed.

Sideshow Coffee is Prahran’s newest specialty coffee bar, brought to you by the boys from Cremorne’s The Boy Who Cried, Wolf. Bright, colourful in design and tucked away in a Chatham Street laneway just metres from Chapel Street.  The coffee, as you would expect, is ridiculously good and the team running the show are super nice. If you don’t know where to look to find them, search out this Mike Makatron mural – they’re right next door! Open 7 days, work day or weekend – hit em up.

Chef Paul Wilson’s second instalment in the Wilson & Market trilogy at the Prahran Market is here and there’s only one word to describe it. YASSSSS. Sitting right in the heart of the market square, it’s both a destination and a pit stop during your mid-morning market shop. Chef Wilson uses ethically and locally sourced ingredients in his take on brunch, which is mostly vegetarian. If that put you off a little, don’t let it. The cafe’s menu is surprising, packed with flavour and one hundred percent delicious. The Wilson & Market Cafe menu will change with the seasons to make the most of what’s fresh & best at any given time in the year – a perfect reason to visit frequently.

The Collective Boutique is a new gem on Greville Street & there’s more to it than meets the eye. To most shoppers it’s a resale boutique with specialty women’s designer clothing, shoes and accessories. Look a little more into it & it’s a a registered training provider for the Prahran Community Learning Centre. This little consignment boutique is well worth a visit if you’re looking for a new stop on your shopping route, or want to make room in your closet for next season by dropping off some goodies to sell.
